In this new age of digital disruption, the biggest challenge is the pace of change. Agility and collaboration have become key attributes for organizations to stay competitive in a market which is overly focused on disruptive innovations. In a highly competitive industry that is traditionally not known for innovations like Banking, Insurance, Retail and from other B2C contexts, the changes in demographics, technology, channels and business models are creating significant new opportunities for the companies to defend market share and increase revenue and margins.
Digital transformation is all about timing. That is why you need a roadmap to define your journey to a digital enterprise in a scalable and thoughtful way. Your teams have to build new and innovative apps quickly, but without putting core business operations at risk. To do this, you need to rethink your approach towards application development.
Startups, which are able to design, test, adapt, and iterate quickly an experience, can outperform large enterprises that have far more resources and technological sophistication.
This leads us to focus most of our innovation efforts on applications, with a heavy emphasis on the end user experience.
Advent of High Productivity Application Platform-as-a-Service (hpaPaaS)
In the present era of digital disruption, successful enterprises need to modernize their application delivery strategy, which is capable of
- Streamlining the software development lifecycle with hpaPaaS and DevOps.
- Expanding developer resources with citizen developers.
- Supporting mobile and multichannel initiatives.
- Accelerating integration (SaaS and legacy modernization).
- Delivering on the promise of enterprise-grade
In the present market context, there are a number of High-productivity platforms offering cloud services, which are helping IT teams take their innovation forward at immense speed. These platforms support everything from innovative customer applications to re-platforming legacy systems, these modern age high-productivity platforms are a must-have on every CEO’s stack.
Mendix is a low-code, fast-paced and agile platform that enables anyone to quickly build complex applications. Mendix is also one of the leaders in the hpaPaaS magic quadrant.
Compare the traditional approach of software development using popular programming frameworks such as Java, .Net etc.; with these modern low code platforms, the benefits & results are incredible. With agile methodologies & DevOps integrated into Mendix, the platform enables us to develop and deliver the application in an iterative process.
The social collaboration feature on the platform helps us get contextual user feedback instantly with the help of an integrated contextual feedback mechanism. This is incredibly effective in reducing the feedback loop between the developer and the business user, making life easier for everyone involved in the projects.
Drawing an analogy, it will not be very inappropriate to say that typical programming is like a black box that you cannot see into until the end of the project. With Mendix, it is much more open and you are closely connected with the end user during the entire lifecycle of the application.
Exploring the Mendix platform
There is a growing interest within our own organization – AEROW, on how we can leverage the Mendix low code platform to deliver value to our esteemed customers. Recently, a couple of our talented colleagues within Team AEROW, have been exploring the Mendix platform. They developed fully functional prototypes based on realistic use cases for our HR Team – Creating Consultant CVs & Expense management for employees. Using the Mendix low coding platform, these two business analysts were able to develop these applications in a matter of few weeks. These two applications are being rolled out within the AEROW Digital organization as a pilot project, thereby making our belief on the Mendix platform stronger than ever.

The Quadient Inspire suite is designed to manage electronic and paper channels very efficiently. It natively leverages data from any business system, database, flat file, and XML data. The platform also boasts many robust features that can be adapted and added in a modular way to meet changing needs. For instance, the Inspire Designer available on the platform is a WYSIWYG design tool that offers multiple views to the designer (workflow / proofing / data / production) improving design time and speeding up production.
We experienced both the power and simplicity of the Inspire suite while using it in one the Mendix applications we have built for our HR team. We have successfully integrated the Quadient Inspire suite tools within our Mendix application to generate structured CV documents on the fly based on pre-defined templates in word, pdf or, html formats.
